PREFABRICATED PANELS THAT COMBINE AESTHETICS AND FUNCTIONALITY

Panels and finishes

Magnetti Building’s extensive range of panels combines aesthetics and functionality, offering technical features alongside maximum creative freedom. This allows for infinite possibilities of composition that help define the building’s identity. With the option of made-to-measure panels and 11 different surface finishes, each project can be uniquely tailored, offering architects and designers the flexibility to create distinctive structures and buildings while benefitting from the advantages of a prefabricated product.

For every project, you can select from standard or custom-made horizontal or vertical panels, combine them to form buildings and integrate them with portals, canopies, corner solutions and shutters to complete the design of sustainable, functional and safe buildings.

Magnetti Building’s panels have also obtained EPD certification, which takes into account the potential environmental impacts throughout the product’s entire life cycle—from the acquisition of raw materials and their processing to manufacturing, use, and eventual end-of-life treatment, recycling and disposal.

Finishes

THE EVOLUTION OF THE FINISHES

The variety of surface finishes for panels represents the latest advancements in architectural concrete. Magnetti Building’s new finishing plant allows special binders to be mixed with select blends of marble, granite and other rocks, producing up to 11 different finishes.

These finishes undergo various treatments, including washing, honing, bush hammering and darkening to create surfaces with natural colours and soft variations in tone.

Mix of finishes

The combination of different finishes within the same infill panel creates a unique chromatic effect. This allows one element to showcase a wide range of finishes and treatments within a small space, including washed, smooth, polished, and bush-hammered finishes.È così che un prospetto può racchiudere in pochi metri tutta la gamma di finiture e trattamenti possibili e immaginabili, dalla texture lavata e quella liscia, da quella levigata alla bocciardata.

Matrix

This finish is obtained by casting the mixture onto a rubber matrix, which creates raised patterns on the concrete face. This technique allows for the creation of concrete surfaces with different aspects, giving buildings a unique aesthetic appearance.

Micro-washed

The beauty of a washed finish applied to fair-faced concrete, using retardant lacquers with low penetration depth. The final effect accentuates the grain structure of traditional concrete, showcasing its natural texture. This finish also offers the possibility of various colours through the use of oxides.

Naturale

This finish reveals the external surface of the element, showcasing the traditional texture of cement paste that completely covers the concrete aggregates. It offers an authentic and understated look that enhances the prefabricated panel as both an aesthetic and structural element.

Integrally coloured

Achieved through formwork concrete casting, this finish can be integrally coloured with oxides. Depending on the desired colour, grey cement is used for darker shades, while white is used for lighter shades.

Sandblasted effect

Similar to bush-hammering, the sandblasted effect highlights the natural aspect of the materials that make up the finishing layer through a mechanical process that creates highly uniform surfaces. The addition of coloured oxides can further enhance the final result, making it even more appealing.

Brushed

Brushing enhances the beauty of washed and polished surfaces, recreating their distinctive features while elevating their quality and imparting a strong character to the element. The beauty of granulates is expertly worked to create a rounded and polished effect that further enhances the aesthetic qualities of the marble.

Washed

This features a layer of river gravel or marble granulate that, after a curing period of one day, and with a retardant lacquer applied on the surface of the formwork, can be washed using a hydro-brushing machine with a pressurised water jet. This finishing process brings out the most natural appearance of the stone.

Bush-hammered

Bush-hammering highlights the rustic texture of the surface, accentuating the aggregates within the mixture. This process carves into the surface of the panel, softening its colour and revealing its inner character. Obtained with a jet similar to the one used for the washed finish, the surface of the panel is treated with a rotating disc equipped with iron points that uniformly etches the cement and stone.

Sanded and polished

Polishing exposes the material-like aspect of the mixture, revealing the hidden qualities of the selected marble mixtures. This finish, which can be either glossy or matt, is highly valued and is achieved through a process similar to bush-hammering. The treatment is carried out using honing tools with progressively finer grits to achieve the desired effect.

Solutions

TX ACTIVE

Magnetti Building’s panels are distinguished not only by their aesthetics but also by innovation. In fact, Magnetti Building was the first in Italy to create a line of infill panels capable of breaking down various pollutants.

At the core of these products is a type of TX Active cement, a photo-catalytic material that, when exposed to light, oxidises and neutralises toxic substances deposited on buildings (PM10, nitrogen oxides and dioxides, polycondensed aromatic compounds, benzene, carbon monoxide) and transforms them into non-toxic compounds, contributing to more breathable air in urban areas.

The use of photo-catalytic cement is growing rapidly across Europe. Some of the most important applications include the “Dives in Misericordia” Church in Rome, designed by architect Richard Meier, and the City of Music and Fine Arts in Chambéry, France, which demonstrate the construction, creative and design potential guaranteed by state-of-the-art prefabricated panels.

Self-cleaning

Grease, dust and acid rain cause the growth of microorganisms that attack building surfaces. The anti-pollution properties of the panels help preserve the brilliance of the colour over time and, consequently, the aesthetic quality of the architectural work.

Versatile

Available in a wide range of colours and finishes, prefabricated panels can be used to create any type of cladding. Their adaptability makes them ideal for diverse sectors and applications.

Durable

Magnetti Building's concrete panels are highly resistant to freeze-thaw cycles, sodium chloride, weathering and ageing. This durability ensures maximum performance with minimal need for maintenance.
